Telling the truth vs a lie in extreme and difficult situations.

I believe that if I am right in a situation, rather it be extreme or even difficult, I will always stand up in what I think is the truth and nothing but the truth. I will never back down from an argument when I know what happened and that I know I was right. I think that everybody should always stand their ground no matter what circumstance they are in. Everybody has a mouth right? Speak it because what happens if somebody takes it to court and the other person being accused of the incident does not speak up for their behalf? The judge will most likely choose the defendants side because the plaintift has not heard his or her side and has only heard one side of the story. Moral of this example is that if a person feels that they are right no matter what happens, then they need to speak their mind and tell the whole truth. Not just half or one third but the WHOLE truth.

There are really no pros to lying because once a person lies to somebody else and they get away with it, the lie may come back. The person who told the lie has to keep up with the lie until they cannot lie anymore. If they would have just told the truth from the beginning then they would not have this problem. Yes the truth may hurt but it is better to tell the person up front how they feel or what they did. The person who heard the truth may not like it but in the end he or she will greatly appreciate it. I believe that if a person tells me the truth upfront and tells the whole truth then i cannot be mad at them. If they tell me a lie and I know that they are lying then it be a long time before I can trust them again because I hate being lied to. I am the type of person that if somebody lies to me then they are cut off. Meaning that they do not exist to me and they can pretty much get out of my life.

  1. Marlayna, I think you make a great point that once someone lies it takes time to forgive and rebuild the trust!
